Our Liberty Joy has arrived!!!

We are delighted to announce that Liberty Joy is here with us now!

Isaiah 61:1-2
"The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor."

She was born at 7:16am on July 4th weighing 7lbs, 10 oz and 19 inches long.

James 1:25
"But the one who looks into the perfect law,
the law of liberty, and perseveres,
being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts,
he will be blessed in his doing."

I woke up with strong contractions at 3:30am and just over 3 1/2 hours later, she was born!

My home birth was wonderful!!! My favorite part was using the jacuzzi!

We delivered at a place in Wichita, Kansas called the "Birth Inn" and it was a WONDERFUL experience. My midwife and the assistant prayed over me during labor as well as encouraged me with praises and blessings!...But as always, my FAVORITE labor partner was my wonderful hubby, Ryan! He just knows me SO well and without a single word, knows from a look or a hand motion just exactly what I'm needing. He read scripture to me and was the biggest encouragement to me through it all! We love laboring together because it always brings us so close together!

Towards the en
d of my pregnancy and during labor, my midwife was fairly sure the cord was around Liberty's neck, so we were concerned about it, but in the end, it wasn't--Praise the LORD!

Everything went so smoothly and Liberty Joy is doing great! I had a rough recovery on Saturday, but by Sunday I was back to feeling great again! Saturday was full of a lot of emotions, but the Lord was faithful and drew me into himself like He never has before! I'm so thankful that through all the ups and downs of that day, I can say that it was worth it all because of how the Lord met with me!

Blessed be the name of the Lord!

Romans 8:20-21
"For the creation was subjected to frustration,
not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it,
in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay
and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God."

She's here!!!

If (hopefully when) we get pregnant again I have SO many questions for you! Our daughter was born this year in July as well and we had a not so great hospital experience-so I am looking at alternatives. They took her away from me right when she was born and I didn't get her back for TWO HOURS!!!

Rachel,
This was our first homebirth...all our others were hospital births. I was a little scared to not be in a hospital, but after experiencing such a personal/private birth, we'll never use a hospital again...well, unless the Lord says to! :)

I'd LOVE to talk to you more about this!
